A regularly scheduled meeting of the CPA Alberta board was held on June 19, 2025. Below is a summary of key decision items and discussions from that meeting:
- In her final meeting as CPA Alberta Board Chair, Ruth McHugh FCPA, FCMA updated the board on a number of items, including ongoing national discussions
- The Board approved the fiscal 2025 CPA Alberta Annual Report and audited financial statements. The annual report and audited financial statements will be presented to Alberta CPAs as part of the CPA Alberta AGM on September 16 and will be available on the CPA Alberta website after that date
- An extension until November 2028 of the Reciprocal Membership Agreement with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants was ratified
- Deanna Muise FCPA, FCA was re-appointed Chair of the CPA Alberta Achievement Awards Review Committee and Nicole Liesemer CPA, CA was re-appointed to the Practice Review Committee
- Jim McKillop FCPA, FCA, ICD.D was appointed to the CPA Insurance Plans West Board on an interim basis effective immediately, until the September 2025 CPA Insurance Plans West Annual General Meeting, when he will be recommended for full-term appointment
