In November 2023, Alberta CPAs showcased their dedication to the community by actively participating in blood donation efforts. CPA Alberta’s November blood drive stood out as an exceptional success, collecting a total of 99 units of blood, surpassing last year’s November drive, which gathered 88 units. Throughout 2023, Alberta CPAs have donated 937 units of blood, a significant increase from the 867 units donated in 2022. These combined efforts have potentially saved the lives of 2,811 individuals. The ongoing commitment of Alberta CPAs to this cause is undeniably making a profound impact.
But the mission is not over! We encourage Alberta CPAs to continue to donate and support this cause, with the goal of reaching 1,000 units of blood by the end of the year. Every donation counts and contributes to the well-being of the community.
Canadian Blood Services relies on regular donations to send over 1,700 units of blood to Alberta hospitals each week. The University of Alberta Hospital alone requires more than 38,000 units of blood every year. The demand for new donors is high, with approximately 1,000 donors needed every month, including 470 in Calgary, 485 in Edmonton and 120 in Red Deer.
