Every day, patients across Canada depend on donated blood for lifesaving surgeries, treatments, and emergency care. During the summer months, donation rates typically decline, putting added strain on an already busy blood system. This year, Canadian Blood Services has reported a 20% drop in blood donations—greater than even anticipated—and is calling on Canadians to help replenish supplies. Because patient needs don’t take a summer break, it’s more important than ever to book a donation appointment. If you’ve been thinking about giving blood, now is the perfect time to make a difference.
For the past five years, CPA Alberta has proudly partnered with Canadian Blood Services as a Partner for Life, helping support a stable blood supply and save lives across our province.

How to sign up
- Log in to or sign up for your Canadian Blood Services account through its website or on the GiveBlood app from the App Store or Google Play
- Select “Partners” from the menu
- Select “Join a team” and search for “CHAR0090572″ or” Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta – CPA”
- Select “Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta – CPA” and automatically be added to the team (for tracking purposes)
- Book your donation appointment this summer for it to count toward our collective goal
How to amplify your impact
- Get into a group of two or more together and turn your donation into a meaningful team-building activity
- Book a group donation with colleagues, friends, or family with Canadian Blood Services using the CPA Alberta code online, on the app, or at your local donation centre
- Snap a photo at your appointment
