The Fall 2016 issue of Capitalize magazine is hot off the press. Capitalize introduces readers to the accounting profession in Alberta, and is distributed to more than 4,500 readers around the province, including placement on post-secondary campuses and in high schools.
This issue features stories about CPAs who work in industries that shape the future, information about the CPA Certification Program, and guest columns on workplace diversity and the benefits of travelling.
The magazine is just one of the tools CPA Alberta uses to attract individuals to the profession. From post-secondary and high school students to career-changers and internationally trained professionals, CPA Alberta informs potential future CPAs of the benefits of the designation through a comprehensive series of events, publications and activities.
Some of the highlights of this busy fall season include hosting “Meet Your Employer” events in Edmonton, Lethbridge, and Calgary. These annual events are for post-secondary students who are interested in pursuing the CPA designation and looking to learn about, and connect with, potential future employers. To further reach this audience, CPA Alberta attends post-secondary career fairs, sponsors events, and hosts information sessions and special events. Similar activities are undertaken to demonstrate to high school students how interesting and rewarding an accounting career can be.
For the workforce and internationally trained professional markets, CPA Alberta holds general information sessions, as well as “Lunch with the Pros” events that feature CPAs who share stories about their career paths and how the CPA designation has helped them to achieve their goals and experience success.
