On March 11, Bill 40, the Professional Governance Act, was introduced in the Alberta Legislature. If passed, the act will bring more than 20 professional regulators, including CPA Alberta, together under a single piece of legislation.
CPA Alberta has anticipated the introduction of this bill for some time. Over the coming weeks, CPA Alberta will review the legislation to understand what impact it may have on the profession. Because the new legislation is based on our existing CPA Act, we anticipate the impacts to members will be minimal.
