This past December, CPA Assist hosted the 6th Annual Virtual Wellness Conference presented by CPA Insurance Plans West. The half-day conference brought together expert speakers on various wellness topics, sparking thoughtful discussions and providing CPAs with an opportunity to learn and recharge before the holidays. Each session offered practical insights and meaningful reminders about how we can better support ourselves and one another, both at work and in our personal lives. Workplace strategist, Jennifer Moss, began the morning with a timely keynote followed by three concurrent sessions.
Here are four key takeaways from the conference:
1. Hope, trust, and stability are the foundations of thriving.
Jennifer Moss emphasized that when people feel hopeful and supported, they experience less stress and burnout. This emotional grounding fuels higher engagement, stronger performance, and a healthier workplace culture.
2. Sleep matters more than we think.
We learned that irregular sleep schedules can double the risk of anxiety disorders. The good news is that improving sleep quality, even through small adjustments, can significantly reduce anxiety and improve overall well‑being.
3. Habits are the building blocks of resilience.
Recharging activities become far more effective when they’re woven into our routines. Starting small is key: each small success builds momentum, strengthens resilience, and expands your “battery capacity” for managing stress.
4. Caregiver fatigue is real and recognizing it is essential.
Many individuals balance caregiving responsibilities and their professional role. Understanding the caregiver fatigue spectrum helps people identify when they need support and empowers them to reach out to their leaders before burnout takes hold.
This year’s wellness conference reminded us how small, intentional steps can create lasting impact. From improving sleep and building resilient habits to recognizing when to seek support, these insights continue to resonate at home and in our workplaces. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event meaningful.
