CPA Assist announces new service provider

CPA Assist announces new service provider

CPA Assist is pleased to announce a transition to a new service provider following the retirement of Dr. Brian Forbes, founder of Forbes Psychological Services. For 14 years, Forbes Psychological Services has been a trusted partner in delivering the CPA Assist program and supporting CPAs and their families. We are grateful to Dr. Brian Forbes and his team for their many years of service and contribution to the program.

This transition marks a new chapter for the program as we continue our commitment to the wellbeing of CPAs, candidates and their immediate families.

CPA Assist has selected Wellness Psychology, a trusted provider of confidential mental health support for individuals navigating personal, professional and workplace challenges, to be the new service provider for the program. With an experienced team, a practical client-focused approach and a strong commitment to professionalism and confidentiality, Wellness Psychology and CPA Assist are working to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.

What is changing:

  • Business hours will change from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT.
  • After-hours crisis support will align with current best practice in employee and family assistance program (EFAP) protocol. Individuals in crisis who call outside of business hours will receive clear crisis routing instructions and be connected immediately to clinically appropriate, well-resourced services.
  • Network of providers. Some counsellors from the previous service provider may not be part of Wellness Psychology’s network. In these situations, clients may choose to continue working with their current counsellor outside of the program and assume any associated out-of-pocket costs, or they can choose to transition to a counsellor within the new provider’s network with costs covered under the program. Support will be available to help clients understand their options and make the choice that best meets their needs.

What is staying the same:

  • CPA Assist remains confidential and free.
  • Eligible users remain the same.
  • Support continues for mental health and personal/workplace challenges.
  • Access to services through the dedicated 1-855-596-4222 toll-free line.
