Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) – Alberta Annual Return Deadline is February 28

Employers with workers are required to fill out an annual WCB return by February 28. For employers, an annual return reports their workers’ assessable earnings paid in the last year and the estimated earnings they expect to pay in the upcoming year.

The information you submit on behalf of your organization or client will help make sure the right WCB coverage is in place, the correct premium amount is paid, and a fair and accurate invoice is received.

Remember! You no longer require a PIN letter to submit an annual return.

If you are filing on behalf of a client(s), they will need to ensure you have the appropriate access so you can submit an annual return on their behalf.

To submit a 2022 annual return beginning January 1, 2022, just log into myWCB and click File my annual return. You have until February 28, 2022 to file.

A reminder about the personal coverage option

If filing an annual return on behalf of your client, please ensure you review their personal coverage option. If you are declining personal coverage on their behalf, it is important that you relay this to your client to ensure they are aware of what this decision entails. The WCB fact sheet explains the benefits of personal coverage.
