Dear Alberta CPA colleagues:
On September 22, I had the pleasure of chairing the 2021 CPA Alberta Annual General Meeting and addressing many of you virtually. This marked my last official duty as the CPA Alberta Board Chair.
It has been truly an honour to serve in this way. The time I have spent giving back to the profession which has given me so much has been a highlight of my career. It has afforded me a firsthand view of the exceptional progress the profession has made and the deep impact Alberta CPAs have in the province and across the country.
Many people deserve thanks for making my time as Chair so rewarding, including my fellow Board members for their commitment and insights and CPA Alberta CEO Rachel Miller and all of the CPA Alberta team for their dedication and hard work.
Most importantly, however, I want to thank all of you—my 30,000 Alberta CPA colleagues. Having the opportunity to interact with many of you and be able to gain a deeper understanding of the difference you make in businesses, not-for-profits, and governments across the province and around the globe has only strengthened my pride to be part of this profession. It is because of you that I leave the Chair role knowing the future of the profession is strong.
Sincerely,
Darrell Jones FCPA, FCMA
