We are less than two weeks away from the CPA Alberta May Blood Drive deadline. Have you donated yet? If not, there is still time to join the challenge and help us reach the goal of 100 units of blood donated by May 31.
Donating blood doesn’t have to be done alone; in fact, it makes a great team building activity. You can sign up to donate at the same time as a friend, donate in small or larger groups, or even make it an organization-wide initiative to give back to the community. Whether it’s first thing in the morning, during lunch, or as part of a regular social activity, giving the gift of life is a great reason to get together.
Donating as an organization has other benefits, too. It can boost morale and give employees a sense of pride. And, we can help make it even easier for your team to take part in CPA Alberta’s blood drive: contact memberengagement@cpaalberta.ca to coordinate a Canadian Blood Services’ Life Bus to transport your group to and from the appointment.
Did you know that Canada has one of the safest blood systems in the world, yet less than four percent of eligible Canadians donate every year? Did you also know that blood donation includes not only blood but also plasma, platelets, and bone marrow.
No matter where you donate across the country, your donation will count towards CPA Alberta’s pledge if you join the team. Let’s continue to make a difference and save lives. Donate by May 31!

How to sign up:
- Log into or sign up for your Canadian Blood Services account through its website or on the GiveBlood app from the App Store or Google Play
- Select “partners” from the menu
- Select “join a team” and search for “CHAR0090572″ or” Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta – CPA”
- Select “Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta – CPA” and automatically be added to the team (for tracking purposes)
- Book your donation appointment in November for it to count as part of the challenge
