Four CPAs are being recognized in 2025 with the CPA Alberta Lifetime Achievement Award for their lengthy history of achievements and contributions to their communities and profession. These four deserving recipients are Matt Bootle, Carolyn Graham, Ron Mathison, and Aroon Sequeira.
“As we enter into the 10th anniversary of the CPA profession, I can’t think of four individuals who better represent the profession,” said CPA Alberta Board Chair Ruth McHugh FCPA, FCMA. “They certainly are a shining example of the tremendous impact individual CPAs can have in their organizations and communities. It was a true privilege to be able to call these outstanding individuals and share the news of this recognition.”
While the four individuals have diverse backgrounds, career histories, and professional expertise, what they have in common is an exemplary legacy of contributions to the projects, communities, and organizations in which they have been involved.

He is known for his technical and standards expertise, particularly in accounting and auditing in the global energy/power/utilities sector. He is the Chairman of MATCO Investments Ltd., a private investment holding company based in Calgary and a Co-Founder and Chair of the Board of three specialized oilfield services companies: Calfrac Well Services Ltd.; Western Energy Services Corp; and Echo Seismic Ltd.

“The expertise, passion, and integrity each of these individuals have demonstrated throughout their careers certainly makes them exemplary role models, deserving of this recognition from their peers,” said CPA Alberta Chief Executive Officer Rachel Miller FCPA, FCA. “I look forward to honoring them and celebrating this recognition at the upcoming Elevate Awards Gala.”
That Gala, which will also celebrate the rest of the 2025 CPA Alberta Achievement Award Recipients—who will be announced later this spring—will be held on May 24 at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. It is part of CPA Alberta’s Elevate series of events, which in 2025 will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the CPA profession in Alberta.
