The CPA Education Foundation is proud to recognize former Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Governors, and relentless champion of the profession, Joe Gagliardi FCPA, FCMA, with the 2026 Impact Award.
Joe exemplifies the spirit of the award, which provides special recognition to deserving individuals who have had significant impact in helping the Foundation achieve its mission and vision.
Well-known for his great sense of humour, Joe is passionate about the CPA profession and seeks to provide opportunities for the next generation to excel. His passion for helping students succeed is evident through his active participation in and support of many of CPA Education Foundation initiatives. Throughout the years he’s served as a judge for the Business Challenge Case Competition, taken on Sparking Great Careers interns, and funded his own scholarship—the Joe Gagliardi FCPA, FCMA Scholarship in Accounting—for more than a decade. In addition to funding his scholarship, Joe provides mentorship to the recipients where possible.
Joe is a dedicated volunteer in the business community and has served on several boards, from professional associations to publicly traded organizations. He also volunteers his time with various post-secondary education institutions where he participates on numerous committees and looks to pay it forward to the next generation of business leaders.
His devotion to the future of the CPA profession, combined with his years of experience with the Foundation Board of Governors, makes him an excellent ambassador for the Foundation and the profession as a whole.
The CPA Education Foundation’s Impact Award is presented annually to an individual who has made important contributions to the work of the Foundation, and whose contributions align with the mission and vision of the Foundation to advance accounting education in Alberta.
