Immediately following the 2023 CPA Alberta Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 7, a regular meeting of the CPA Alberta Board was held. Below is a summary of key discussion items and decisions from that meeting.
- Ruth McHugh FCPA, FCMA, commenced her term as Board Chair by welcoming new CPA Alberta Board Members Richard Mussenden CPA, CA and Julie Oliver CPA, CA.
- The report of Chief Scrutineer Naylene Fries CPA, CA on this year’s votes was presented and accepted.
- A number of appointments were made to CPA Alberta Committees, including appointing Heather Murk as the Chair of the Complaints Inquiry Committee and re-appointing Debbie Gorsline as Chair of the CPA Assist Committee.
- The Board also confirmed appointments to a number of Board committees.
- The Board approved the appointment of a working group to examine the awards criteria to ensure they are contemporary, appropriate, practical, and inclusive and the appointment of an ex-officio Board Member to the Review Committee to enhance communication between the Board and the Committee.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the CPA Alberta board is Thursday, December 7, 2023.
