Do you know a non-CPA who might be interested in contributing to the accounting profession in Alberta? CPA Alberta is currently seeking public members to join two important regulatory committees: the Practice Review Committee (PRC) and the Registration Committee (RC).
Public members play a vital role in CPA Alberta’s governance by bringing an independent perspective and helping ensure decisions are made in the public interest. Their involvement strengthens accountability and helps maintain confidence in the profession.
Serving as a public member is a rewarding volunteer opportunity for professionals from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about good governance, accountability, and safeguarding the public.
The PRC determines whether each accounting practice that is the subject of a practice review complies in whole or in part with the Rules of Professional Conduct and practice standards. The RC is responsible for reviewing applications for registration, reinstatements, and exemptions under the CPA Act and helps ensure only qualified, competent individuals are admitted or reinstated to the profession.
