If you’re thinking about raising capital—or are deep in the weeds trying to teach yourself how venture financing actually works—register for the virtual Alberta Venture Finance Education series this September, presented by ClassRebel and supported by CPA Alberta. The goal of this education series is to raise the knowledge level in Alberta on venture finance mechanics, so that angels can more easily navigate early-stage investments and founders can more easily raise startup capital.
There are two options this September: Fundraising for Startups and Angel Investing. Both courses are tailored to the Alberta ecosystem.
Fundraising for Startups
This course is designed specifically for Alberta-based founders navigating the early-stage funding landscape, and will cover how to prepare for your first raise, understanding term sheets and cap tables, communicating with investors, and what’s “normal” in venture deals (and what’s not).
September 15-18 at 7:00 p.m. MT.
Live via Zoom.
Angel Investing
Interested in startup investing? The goal of this session is to break down the fundamentals of angel investing—no experience required. Applicable to those new to the space or more seasoned investors, topics covered include how venture deals work (and what’s “market”), building your personal investment thesis, and evaluating early-stage opportunities.
September 22-25 at 7:00 p.m. MT.
Live via Zoom.
Note that the courses are free to residents of Alberta only at this time, and you must attend one or more of the live classes to receive the full on-demand course access.
