During the month of September, CEO Town Halls were held throughout the province. More than 700 Alberta CPAs attended the sessions in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge and Red Deer to hear an update on CPA Alberta’s activities and current issues in the profession. CEO Rachel Miller FCPA, FCA provided information on the new five-year strategic plan, CPA Alberta’s natioanl work, and the services and initiatives CPA Alberta provides to Alberta CPAs and other stakeholders.
The events also featured an interactive question and answer period. Common questions from attendees included the profession’s response to the federal government’s proposed tax changes for private corporations, CPA Alberta’s work with local Chapters, and professional development opportunities.
Thanks to all of the Alberta CPAs who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend these events. We hope to visit other centres throughout the province in the upcoming months.
